Toward the First Performances of Turtle Island in the New York Region
We are pleased to announce that Plasticiens Volants has received support from the Institut Français and Villa Albertine to accompany the first performances of our new creation, Sky Woman – Turtle Island, with an initial stage being prepared in the New York region this fall.
This project is being developed in co-production with Unicycle Productions, led by Sonia Kozlova Clark, our trusted partner in the United States, who is assisting us with both the artistic and logistical development of the project. It is taking shape in close collaboration with representatives and artists from the Haudenosaunee Nation, including G. Peter Jemison, artist and cultural advisor to the project, and Bill Crouse, singer, composer, and member of the Seneca Nation.
This creation is the result of a genuine cultural exchange, grounded in listening, respect, and the sharing of Indigenous origin stories.
For the company, this adventure is also an opportunity to forge new human, artistic, and territorial connections, and to share a meaningful and collective experience with audiences, professionals, and curious minds alike.
We’ll soon have more to share with you... the project is taking flight!
